Pokémon Scarlet and Violet patch coming to polish Paldea
Good news, Pokémon trainers. After somewhat of a tumultuous launch, the first Pokémon Scarlet and Violet patch is coming to fix some of the already infamous bugs in Game Freak’s ninth generation of monster taming, with more updates promised further down the line to address some of the ferocious feedback received over the last couple of weeks.
Despite a launch day update, countless players have experienced issues with many elements of the gameplay in the latest Pokémon title - including ourselves in our Pokémon Scarlet and Violet review - so it’s a relief to see that despite doubts that it might not act, the developer is stepping in to ensure an improvement to the quality of the game. With bugs ranging from random crashes to gigantamaxing characters, it’s obvious that changes need to be made before more customers start pushing for refunds.
Included in the patch notes for the forthcoming update is a statement from the developer that clears up any doubt over the intent for the game going forward, with the note reading “Our goal is always to give players a positive experience with our games, and we apologise for the inconvenience. We take the feedback from players seriously, and are working on improvements to the games”. It’s a rare admission of fault on the part of the company, and while some fans have been able to play through the issues, it will be hoping that those who couldn’t come back after the update.
