Developers Are Uncertain About Long-Term Future of Steam Deck

When it launched in February 2022, the Steam Deck was a smash hit, especially among PC gamers, but results from a recent survey show that some developers are not confident the portable system has longevity as a platform. While Valve's early success lies in game development, striking gold from day one with 1998's Half-Life, the Washington-based conglomerate has attempted to branch out into hardware over the years. While the majority of these endeavors have not exactly been a rousing success, the Deck has shown that the company can make an impact elsewhere.
