Creed: Rise to Glory hits PSVR 2 in April

VR studio Survios has announced that Creed: Rise to Glory – Championship Edition will arrive on PSVR 2 on 4th April, at the tail end of the new generation VR headset’s launch window. This re-release will also arrive on Meta Quest 2 at the same time.

As an expanded and enhanced game for PSVR 2, owners of the original release on PSVR will have to pay to upgrade to the Championship Edition, at $19.99 for the Standard Edition or $29.99 for the Deluxe Edition.

This is an evolution of the original release that adds new characters, locations and new story chapters, all based on Creed III, which will be releasing in cinemas on 3rd March. The story follows Adonis Creed, son of heavyweight champ Apollo Creed, as he starts his boxing career under the guidance of Rockey Balboa, making your way up the boxing rankings to become a champion.

On a technical level, the game takes advantage of the PSVR2 headset’s higher resolution and the PS5’s great graphical power. Foveated rendering will be employed to get the best visuals wherever you’re looking, and the wider 110º field of view widens the goggle effect. For a game about punching things and getting punched, it will make use of the haptic feedback built into the Sense controller and the PSVR 2 headset itself, as well.
